How it began: cars, coffee & a Canon

I was that kid at small car shows, naming every badge like a walking VIN decoder. The first time a photo really hit me was at a Cars & Coffee by the beach, new camera in hand, dream car in front of me, and boom…hooked. Early on I chased the dark, moody nightlife vibe from Fast & Furious, and I started on a used Canon Rebel T6i a friend sold me. My first “real” shoot? My roommate’s dad’s Corvette C6 has a great location, but a terrible time of day. (Turns out noon sun is a savage editor.) Friends cheered me on, the car scene felt like home, and I learned fast that less is more, quality over quantity beats cranking sliders any day.

When photography became the path: Flipping the switch

The moment it clicked was seeing clients fall in love with their cars again when they got their edits. That feeling made me adopt a serious mindset first, no more “just for fun.” My gas-station series at Shell got traction, and I doubled down on sunsets and night shoots. The colors and vibes are unmatched. My look? Moody, bright, colorful scenery with compositions that feel cinematic. The biggest risk I took was ignoring trends and “going viral” bait. I chose different over derivative, and it’s been the right lane.

Where I am now: The work, the vibe, the process

These days I shoot mostly for brands and companies, with Shell as my biggest client. A typical day: scout the location, grab some food and drinks, meet the client, and talk cars while we create. I shoot with a Sony a7 IV and the 16–35mm f/2.8 GM lens handheld, using natural light, with no rigs or drama. Safety matters: empty roads for rollers, back roads when possible, and comms via walkie-talkies or hands-free. Turnaround is 5–7 days (often faster). Dream gig? Lamborghini design, color, speed…say less.

Quick Extras: My favorite spot is the windmills. Three words to describe my work: moody, colorful, and dreamy. Most underrated subject: any classic. Best prep tip: Bring a cloth and quick detailer for a fast wipe-down.
